Covid 19 And Safety
Dear Valued Patient,
Covid-19 has changed how we live and do things for the foreseeable future. We have all adapted to social distancing, wearing masks, and being obsessive about cleanliness.
The question we ask ourselves is can we do elective (planned) procedures (operations) safely? Yes, we can, and this is how we do it!
It comes from the principle of you protect me and I protect you. You protect me by following all the behavioural guidelines during your day to day life. Where we can, we do consultations over the Internet.
I and the Hospital protect you by having very strict access control. Everyone is screened. The Hospital is divided into green (safe) zones and yellow / red (No go) zones. We prefer that you come on your own to the consultation so as not to fill up the consulting room. We limit the number of patients in the waiting room. Marks are worn by myself, and staff at all times. There are foot-controlled hand sanitizers and screens at the reception area. We aim for no touch interaction. When you are due for surgery, we request you get a COVID-19 test 48 hours before.
The Hospital and all components are separated physically into green and red zones. You go into a green zone ward and are operated in a green zone theatre.
Appropriate PPE is worn at all times. We pay attention to detail to ensure a safe, healthy and excellent outcome.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions regarding surgery.
Be safe, wear a mask and be positive!
Warm regards
Paul McGarr
